My Bar – Quarterdeck, located in Koramangala, Bangalore, India, is a Seafood speciality restaurant and bar also quite popular as the local favorite watering hole.

A casual, yet fun-to-be, place that highlights the bar and the Sea-food, in a muted but unmistakable manner.

The challenge was to change from an already designed restaurant to a ‘Bar’. To create a comfortable, casual, relaxing and meeting-up place with an emphasis on its specialty cuisine.

Since the place was already finished, it was not treated acoustically. And since it was dominantly made of wooden panelling, we changed the wall texture to render that cozy, intimate aura of a bar.

Without going overtly ‘Sea theme’ as the client had requested, we added several elements from ships such as Anchor lights, Oars, Helm (steering wheel), Anchors, Ship telephones, etc to add the look without having to redesign from scratch.
